A must-have for all developers starting up with Swift Programming

This is a must-have book if you are starting up with Swift programming. I've been programming Objective-C for 2 years and this book is very handy too look up everything when it comes to Swift. Good examples and very clean layout. Easy to read.

So, if you plan to start programming Swift this book will really help you out on the way. If you already have started programming Swift this book is very handy as a look-up reference.

Usually I love the books of Wei-Meng Lee, as it teaches by examples... but not this one, as it is just introduction to basic concepts which I already know. So I think this book is for someone who is new to Object Oriented programming (OOP) in general.

Very, very low level book, great if you just got your first computer and are learning to develop with no past experience.
Frankly, you can get the same information from a few basic searches and spending some time on the web. Same information is on YouTube for free. Description states "Discover, master, and build with Swift,...", book will not help you 'master' the language, just get you started.
Again, if you have no development experience this is a good place to start and don't mind spending the money. However, I think there are other books viable for a better value. I have been using Wrox for years, and just expected more from them.

Un libro emotivo que NO es sólo para fans

Aunque yo soy fan de Ricky Martin (y, por lo tanto, no soy objetiva) puedo decir que creo sinceramente que este libro resultará interesante para todo tipo de público. Primero que todo, porque está escrito en forma amena, sin pretensiones, de manera muy ágil y entretenida. Esto, sin embargo, no quiere decir que sea superficial. Al contrario, más que un relato de hechos sensacionalistas (si buscan leer detalles escándalosos, se van a decepcionar, no hay nada de eso) es el testimonio de cómo Ricky ha sentido, cómo ha sufrido y disfrutado, una vida y una carrera extraordinaria.

Sorprende la sencillez y la humildad con la que relata sus éxitos y sus dificultades, tanto en lo personal como lo profesional, lo que hace que, pese a lo lejana que puede parecer la vida de una superestrella, sea posible entenderlo y empatizar con su historia. Es que, en vez de presentar el glamour que ciertamente lo ha rodeado, nos deja ver sus miedos, inseguridades, pasiones y alegrías; es decir, se muestra como un hombre y no como un "ídolo". Es increíble recordar determinadas épocas de su carrera y contrastar lo que el público veía con lo que pasaba emocionalmente en su vida. Conmueve leer sobre su proceso de búsqueda espiritual y su lucha por aceptarse a sí mismo. Y, en especial, emociona muchísimo el amor por sus hijos y su experiencia como padre.

Además de lo que se puede decir del contenido del libro, que me encantó (hay muy buenos reviews que pueden revisar, en inglés especialmente) quiero destacar que afortunadamente exista esta edición para Kindle en español. Pese a que no fue lanzado simultáneamente con el eBook en inglés (Me), se agradece que haya salido con poca diferencia de tiempo.

El eBook de "Yo" está bien formateado e incluso tiene una ventaja sobre el eBook en inglés, ya que incluye la portada original, con foto de Omar Cruz, lo que no ocurre en la edición en inglés (lo sé porque también la tengo). Punto a favor de Amazon :O)

En una forma sumamente interesante y cautivadora, nos relata Ricky Martin sus experiencias. Es de admirar que, aunque nos cuenta todos sus logros como la estrella mundial que es, lo hace con el propósito de mostrarnos que todo esto, no lo hace diferente a cualquier ser humano. A través de esta lectura, logra cautivarnos y transmitirnos cómo debemos enfocarnos en las cosas realmente importantes en la vida. Nos muestra los valores más importantes: la humildad, el amor por la familia, el valor del trabajo y la compasión por los problemas de los demás. Quiero resaltar que fue muy inteligente de su parte utilizar su libro para dar a conocer un poco más sobre el problema de la trata humana y el trabajo que su fundación está haciendo. Nos cuenta historias y nos da ejemplos tan gráficos que mueve las fibras de cualquier corazón y crea conciencia sobre este gran problema. Definitivamente este libro es muy motivador e inspira a cualquier ser humano a valorarse, a salir adelante y a vencer cualquier miedo o idea negativa que podamos tener. With werewolves now a hot fiction item (for instance, Michael Cadnum's St. Peter's Wolf, p. 416, or Dennis Danvers's Wilderness, p. 266), it's no surprise to see a ``true'' account of the hairy beasts. Too bad it's by the Warrens, those professional ``demonologists'' last seen facing down Satan and his minions (and Bigfoot too) in Ghost Hunters (1989). Before the Warrens enter the chronicle at hand (told in narrative, Q&A-interview, and diary forms), though, we're regaled in the alphabet-block prose of their usual coauthor, Chase, with the sad saga of Bill Ramsey, the book's fourth credited author. Ramsey, you see, was the werewolf--well, actually it turns out that he wasn't a werewolf at all but, as the text describes him, a ``wolfman'' like Lon Chaney, Jr., in those 40's horror films--well, actually it turns out that he wasn't a wolfman at all but a young working-class British bloke who thought he was changing into a wolf, which is why he tried to bite all those friends and young ladies and cops and nurses. But it wasn't his fault: The Devil made him do it. Which is where the Warrens come in. In England on a promotional tour (neatly continued in the text: ```The Warrens are the most fascinating people I've ever interviewed,' '' an anonymous TV producer is quoted as saying), they learn of Ramsey's plight and pinpoint it as demonic possession. A bit of persuasion and Ramsey is off with them to the States, where their old colleague Bishop McKenna, also last seen in Ghost Hunters (``He's a very earnest and devout man. You just don't see his kind around a lot anymore,'' says Ed) exorcises the invading ``demon,'' setting Ramsey free. Skeptics, please note the Warrens' assurance that this is ``a carefully documented'' case (they forgot to include the documentation, though). Spooky Reading!

I love reading the case files of Ed & Lorraine Warren! The first one I read was "The Demonologist", which I had years ago when I was in school. I was fascinated with the tales in there and it was where I was first introduced to "Annabelle."

These new editions are much better than the versions I had in the past, with cleaner print, easier on the eyes. Several have photos that are much more clear than some of the previous editions.

I am so glad these books are back in print, and in a pleasant, matching collection. Be sure to get all of them, and be ready for many chilling nights reading the spooky stories that will give you lots of restless sleep. :)

Tough Chapter But Good Exposition

This is a balanced of one the most difficult portions of the Bible (IMO). Dr. Lloyd-Jones takes a careful look at this chapter and avoids the pitfalls of legalism and doing things that may allow a genuine believer to stumble. Another interesting fact is how much church history Lloyd-Jones knows, which I noticed throughout the entire Rom. series. Recommended.

I recommend everyone to give this a chance and follow the program. She looks amazing and with the help of knowing how to structure my time, diet, and exercise, this will be my new journey to a better me. Love all the details and ideas, along with the encouragement of a instructor who puts into practice what he preaches!!

This book was very informative and gave the practical application of how to implement the learning. I most like the concept of visualization and how to actually do it. I've been doing vision boards and exercising and this book helped to confirm what I already knew and then gave me additional tools to move beyond where I am .... Awesome!!!
